Bill C-11: reintroduction of the Copyright Modernization Act
The federal government reintroduced its Copyright Modernization Act in the House of Commons on September 29, 2011, in exactly the same form as the former Bill C-32, now known as Bill C-11.

Certification of the “Pending List” Canadian Class Action Lawsuit :
On 30 May 2011, the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario certified the class action and approved the tripartite agreement reached between SODRAC and CMRRA, four record companies (majors) and the plaintiffs to pay songwriters and music publishers for outstanding “pending list” claims under the class action filed in Canada in 2008 by the estate of Chet Baker.
